“Agham na Ramdam!”is the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) mantrain making Filipinos feel and experience the impact of science and technology (S&T) in their daily lives. Nowii is the monicker of DOST’s latest information campaign, and is all set to rally the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) as DOST’s Science Nation Tour goes to Baguio City for its next leg on October 6-8, 2015.

 

It is now the Department of Science and Technology- Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (DOST- ARMM) turn to showcase thebiggest and latest breakthroughs in S&T in the upcoming celebration of 2015 DOST- ARMM Science and Technology Week.

To run October 8- 10, 2015 at the Alnor Convention Center in Cotabato City, the event will feature DOST’sS&T programs and interventions and local inventions, bearing the theme Philippines: A Science Nation Innovating for Global Competitiveness.

 

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) turned over landslide and storm surge hazard maps for Vigan City, Ilocos Norte, La union, and Pangasinan, including copies of the Reference for Emergency and Disaster or RED Book. The turnover is part of DOST’s advocacy to promote disaster preparedness by disseminating information down to the barangay level and communities-at-risk.

Secretary Mario G. Montejo held the turnover on September  1, 2015 during the Forum on Climate Change, Disaster Management and MSMEs Development, an event of the annual celebration of the DOST Region I Science  and Technology Fair for the Northern Luzon Cluster held at the Vigan Convention Center in Vigan City.
