Through the implementation of user-centric learning principles, participants in this training program are actively involved and encouraged to become knowledgeable in the processes of effectively navigating and managing STARBOOKS. User-centric learning places the individual learners at the center of the educational experience, tailoring the training to their specific needs, preferences, and abilities. By doing so, it not only ensures a more engaging and personalized learning experience but also equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently interact with and take charge of STARBOOKS, making the entire process more efficient and effective.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this 2-hour training, participant will be able to:
- Explain what STARBOOKS is all about
- Utilize the STARBOOKS content in their lessons
- Demonstrate proficiency in using STARBOOKs and navigating its content
- Apply basic troubleshooting techniques when a problem occurs

Science Journo Ako: Creating Engaging Science Stories through Multimedia Platforms focuses on empowering students, science and math teachers, researchers from the academe, and technical staff of DOST agencies and regional offices to create relevant and engaging science content for print publications, online news sites, and social media channels. The topics covered include Science News and Feature Writing, Basic Photography and Photojournalism, and Social Media Content Creation.
Course Objectives:
The course aims to equip our target audience with the necessary skills and knowledge to create science news and feature articles, capture compelling images that highlight the benefits of science, and produce relevant and engaging science content suitable for various social media platforms.
Target Audience:
Students (Junior and Senior High, and College students), researchers from academic institutions (private and public), and technical staff of DOST agencies and regional offices.

In secondary schools, the library is a cornerstone for enhancing students' educational experiences, offering a space to develop crucial research and information literacy skills. However, the absence of professional librarians in many schools necessitates assigning school staff members to manage library operations. "Make Your Library Alive (MYLA): Basic Training for School Library In-Charge" is designed to equip these staff members with the essential skills and knowledge required to effectively manage school libraries. This training will cover key aspects of library management, including resource organization, Learning Management System and also promoting the library. By empowering library in-charge staff with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to create a more enriched and productive learning environment for students and further support the goals of education in secondary schools.
Course Objectives:
At the end of training, the participants should be able to:
- List and describe the different library resources.
- Apply the Dewey Decimal System Classification for proper shelving of library resources.
- Promote and market the library to the students, school non-teaching staff, and faculty members
- Submit library usage reports periodically for monitoring
