A time to reflect and to hope

December brings us many things.  But it is also a time to reflect and to hope.  It means that another year of hard work draws to a close.  In spite of the strenuous times, there is reason to hope that things will get better next year.  That's because we added 12 months of lessons and experiences to our collective consciousness.  We are hopeful that such lessons and experiences will make us more persevering and wiser in the 12 months ahead.

The challenge is to develop and deliver more effective technologies and productive services to the people and industries.  This may mean a more responsive portfolio of programs and activities.  Most of all, we are aware of the imperative to be creative to optimize our modest resources.

Other than the climate, we know that our circumstances as an organization also change.  We are constantly aware and conscientious of the immediate and long-term aspirations of our internal and external clients.  We desire to find better ways to meet those aspirations sufficiently without being oblivious to the greater interest of our people.  Like most of you, we aim for better times for the Filipino people and ourselves through relevant, appropriate, and productive technologies, services, and knowledge.

I am hopeful that we can work harder together in the coming year.  I am hopeful that as we grow in understanding our individual and collective roles, we would be more determined and purposeful in performing our uncommon roles in the national development mission.

I wish you and your families a meaningful Christmas and a New Year full of hope!
