Usec. dela Peña is top UP engineering alumnus
Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary
Fortunato T. dela Peña received the most distinguished alumnus award from the University of the Philippines College of Engineering in simple ceremonies at the Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman, Quezon City last Nov. 13.
Dela Peña was cited for his exemplary performance as academician and public servant. He is a professor at the UP College of Engineering since 1973, where he also earned his BS Chemical Engineering degree in 1969.
He also holds or has held leadership positions in prestigious professional organizations such as the National Research Council of the Philippines, Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers, Association of Management and Industrial Engineers, and UP Alumni Engineers, for which he also reaped honors and awards.
Dela Peña is a strong advocate of information technology projects specifically in e-governance and co-chairs the E-Government Implementation Committee.
