ASTI delivers online trainings
The National Computer Center's National Computer Institute in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology's Advanced Science and Technology Institute held a pilot-test on delivery of online courses through videoconference. About 30 participants each in Benguet State University and Bicol University participated in the training on MS Access.
The event under ASTI's Philippine Research, Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET) Project,was conducted June 1 to 4 at ASTI Building in Diliman, Quezon City.
The activity aimed to demonstrate the capability of PREGINET network and PREGINET - developed and enhanced applications to support the necessary network infrastructure and facilities in holding online trainings and distance education.
NCI is set to conduct a series of online trainings and workshops over PREGINET covering a number of state universities and colleges under the SUC alliance program.
Installation of NCC-NCI connection to PREGINET was completed last June 24, which is expected to enable NCI to conduct regular online trainings and courses, and enhance collaboration with partner SUCs.
