MACHINE—PRESSED BARONG. Department of Science and Technology officials proudly don their barongs made from abaca and silk fiber-based pinukpok fabric during the recent National Science and Technology Week held in Legaspi City. The finer, softer, more lustrous, and resilient abaca silk fabrics were processed using the rotary press machine jointly developed by DOST's Philippine Textile Research Institute and Metals Industry Research and Development Center.
