PhilAAS’ 54th Annual
Convention
The Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science
held its 54th annual convention at the University of Santo Tomas’ Thomas
Aquinas research complex last September 15. UST’s
The convention featured plenary lectures on important issues
such as responsible mining, sustainable forest management, effective energy
conservation and management, sustainable aquatic resources management, and
human resources capability building. Lecturers include scientists and experts from the Department of Science
and Technology, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of
Energy, and University of the
Participants were invited to present research papers during
the poster presentation session. Similarly, invited institutions will put an exhibit of products,
services, and activities relevant to the convention theme.
PhilAAS is a non-profit, non-stock
scholarly organization of scientists and technologists in the country founded
in 1951. It aims to promote and broaden
the base of scientific advancement in the
