PCIERD’s search for outstanding
R&D in industry and energy
The Philippine Council for Industry and Energy Research and
Development now accepts entries to the 6th Science and Technology For a and
Competitions, which is open to engineers, scientists, and researchers from
universities and colleges, R&D institutions, and private industries
involved in fields covered by the agency’s sectoral mandate.
Cash prizes and trophies await the winners of the
Outstanding R&D in Industry and Energy for 2006.
The biennial competition is a recognition to those who contributed to S&T development through their research works in
the fields of industry and energy.
PCIERD’s Engr.
Niña Escorial, chair of steering committee for the
competition said “the R&D projects to be presented must have been completed
and developed from 2000 to 2004 and should also cover the category of applied
R&D activities including prototyping of industrial and energy-related
equipment, process or product development or improvement, environmental
concerns, and resource utilization”.
Prizes for the regional level are P125,000,
P100,000, and P75,000 on top of plaques for the first, second, and third place
winners, respectively. National level
winners will receive P250,000, P200,000, and P150,000
along with trophies.
All qualified entries will be given a certificate of
recognition and P5,000 cash incentive each and a chance to win any of the major
prizes. Winners will be awarded during PCIERD’s 24th anniversary celebration on
